Meet your Instructor
Hi, I’m Masae!
I am the owner and certified ISR Instructor at North Shore ISR. Like many kids growing up on Long Island, my love for the water started right at the beach. What began as a childhood passion evolved into a lifelong career dedicated to water safety and community protection.
At 16, I became a lifeguard, which set me on a path toward leadership in the aquatic industry. Over the years, I’ve served as an American Red Cross Instructor and an Assistant Chief Lifeguard for local government.
My career has allowed me to experience almost every facet of the aquatic world, blending high-level safety oversight with hands-on education. Some of my professional highlights include:
First Responder & Agency Training: Leading water safety demonstrations and specialized certifications for government agencies and local first responders.
Community Outreach: Routinely volunteering to teach vital water safety curriculum in our local Long Island school districts.
Youth Mentorship: Developing and creating local Junior Lifeguarding programs to inspire the next generation of water safety advocates.
Every step of my journey—from the waters edge to managing safety teams—ultimately led me to Infant Swimming Resource (ISR). I recognized a profound need for early-childhood survival swimming, and becoming a certified ISR instructor was the natural next step in my commitment to saving lives.
Entrusting someone with your child’s water safety is a major milestone, and it’s a responsibility I hold in the highest regard. My extensive background in aquatic safety along with my ISR training ensures that every lesson is approached with precision, dedication, and deep respect for your child's individual needs. I look forward to welcoming your family to the pool and partnering with you to build life-saving skills that last a lifetime.
